A first grade teacher lost her engagement ring in the murky West River near the dock at the Guilford Yacht Club.

So excited to share a heartwarming story that truly showcases the incredible spirit of our community. On Wednesday night, Hannah’s engagement ring fell into the ocean. Despite several divers searching tirelessly, it seemed like we had lost it forever.

As a complete stranger, Spencer Rentas reached out and offered to help. He brought his diving equipment and spent hours assisting us in the search, all in an effort to pay it forward.

Enter our local hero, John P Peters. John managed to find and retrieve the ring in 11 minutes! His efforts, along with the support and encouragement from our community, made this happy ending possible.

A huge thank you to John and Spencer along with everyone who offered their help and kind words. It’s moments like these that remind us of the strength and unity of our community. HANLER is so grateful and proud to be part of such a wonderful place. ❤️💍🌊
