Our Frederick Field Crew doing what we do best - SURVEYING (and making friends with local doggos along the way)! Fox & Associates originally started as a small land surveying firm back in 1966. To date we have expanded into a well established land surveying, civil engineering and land planning firm.

Taking it back Tuesday!! These photos were used for Fox's Hunter Hill Apartments located in Washington County. Keep reading for how aerial surveying was done back in the day!
Prior to the use of drones, aerial surveying was done with manned aircraft equipped with cameras and sensors. The cameras would shoot a series of photos, called Photogrammetry, of the area, while sensors collected various data of the landscape. Prior to the aircraft taking pictures, the Ground Control Points (GCPs) were strategically placed throughout the area to ensure accurate geo-referencing. Once the photos were developed, they would overlap each other to create a clear, continuous image of the land being surveyed.

Our Shelly, Whitter & Fox Team in Greencastle has been providing Professional Surveying Services to Waste Management for almost 20 years, providing quality control for the construction of Landfill Cells and infrastructure. We prepare record drawings and aerial imagery for the certification of construction to ensure the protection of air and water quality.
