4 years ago I quit my job, took a chance, and installed my first AC unit under Shadow Heating & Cooling.

These are my humble beginnings as I started out of my parents’ old Escalade and a $600 makeshift trailer to haul equipment.

Today, we’ve served thousands of homes, built a name in our community, and met a lot of great people along the way which is absolutely priceless.

So many opportunities have given us the chance to step up and be the change in the world that we wish to see.

Crazy to look back at where it all started. I’m so proud of how far we’ve come and we’re nowhere near done.

Like nails on a chalkboard! This is the extreme side of what COULD happen to a blower wheel when it’s warped.

We want to extensively thank our loyal customers and friends for all of the continued support as we grow with Hampshire.

One of our favorite things about Hampshire is community involvement. We help out where we can and provide a quality 5 star service to anyone who rings.

Jennifer has stepped in to help us as we grow. So when you call the mainline you’ll get her friendly voice and she runs by the same philosophy as us, we’ll work with anyone to make anything happen. No matter what.

So now for the van! Our Fords have just been deteriorating. rust and repairs has just started to consume and outweigh the cost to bring them back up to par.

Our vans and the position they were in were not a reflection of who we are and the quality and service we provide.

So voila. Our (new to us) Toyota!

WE HAVE SOME EXCITING NEWS! 👀

Tomorrow at 12 PM, we’re officially unveiling the newest addition to the Shadow HVAC fleet!

A lot went into making this one happen, and we’ll be giving credit to everyone who helped bring it together.

Our Fords have served us well, but lately the reliability just hasn’t been where we need it to be. When customers are counting on us, we can’t afford to be scrambling because a service vehicle is down.

So… we’re switching brands. 👀

Any guesses what we went with?

First no heat of the year!

Realtor selling property for the client Friday and the heat doesn’t work!

Handyman changed flame sensor and the unit still just wouldn’t work!

Fire needs oxygen to combust.

This Lennox features a sealed combustion chamber with an intake pipe run outside.

The unit HAD an obstruction and now the unit now operates as intended.

While we’re able to recognize and properly diagnose equipment, this could have been a wild goose chase and a parts cannon from an inexperienced technician.

This old Trane YEE’D its last HAW. While it was still “working” but just very tired the owner opted to replace!

Due to space constraints the Rheem 50k btu 80% was the unit for the job.

This is our secondary line for situations like this. They still come with the same industry standard 10 year parts guarantee and this is a product that we like paired finely with the Ameristar. we opted to size up a half a ton to 2.5 and relocated the supply duct for 2nd floor to make airflow even throughout the home.

We’ve kept up with this customer as second floor temperatures have been the major nuisance and driving factor for replacement.

Prior to our install a 10* temperature differential from 1st to 2nd floor was “normal” even with the unit running like Forest Gump.

Now it’s closer to 1.5-2* and the unit actually shuts off.

They now also have access to control their home remotely via a new Nest 4th gen which pairs nicely with the rest of their smart home set up!

Another very happy customer!

This poor old Rheem has been struggling to breathe for 20+ years. 

We tell our homeowners that returns are almost more important than supplies, bringing the air back so it can be conditioned is key to a comfortable home that feels even throughout with no humid or hot and cold zones.

This job, we spun the unit the other direction and swapped from a 80% 100k btu to a 95% 80k btu
Along with a new very large return drop that’s now not only adequate but well beyond its means!

Remember the entire system is an air pump the easier it can inhale and exhale the unit will work as intended and increases longevity!

Right out the doors the owner will notice a 15% savings on their NICOR bill along with a significant decrease on COMED due to multi speed ECM blower and new AC unit!
