Another playground project in the books. 💪

For this job, we started by leveling the area and building a custom 6’ x 6’ pressure-treated border. Once the border was in place, we installed a commercial-grade material barrier to help keep the playground surface separated from the soil.

After that, we hit pause while the swing set company completed their installation. Once the equipment was set, we came back to finish the job by spreading and raking approximately 8 yards of playground-grade wood chips, creating a safe, soft landing surface that’s built to last.

We take pride in doing every project the right way from start to finish. Whether it’s excavation, site work, grading, or specialty projects like this, we’re committed to quality workmanship and attention to detail.

This project is a great example of how our Machine Work Only service can help local homeowners tackle projects that are simply too much to do by hand.

Our customer is installing a new above-ground pool along with a retaining wall and patio to completely transform their backyard. With nearly 4 feet of elevation change over a 35-foot span, they quickly realized that creating a level area by hand wasn’t a realistic option.

We brought in the excavator and “split the difference”—cutting approximately 2 feet from the high side and using that material to build up the low side. The result is a large, level area that’s now ready for the pool company to install the sand base and assemble the pool. Next up will be the retaining wall and patio, which will really bring the whole project together.

Not every project requires a full service package. Sometimes homeowners just need the right equipment and an experienced operator to tackle the heavy lifting and get them to the next step. We’re happy to help with those projects too.

If you’re planning a backyard project and need professional machine work to get started, we’d be glad to help. Proud to serve our local community, one project at a time.

🛝🚜 Talk about a major backyard transformation!

For this project, we created a dedicated swing set pad and wood chip play area for a local family. We started by leveling a 21-by-25-foot area and installing a sturdy border built from 6-by-6 pressure-treated lumber.

Once the border was complete, we installed a material barrier underneath the entire area to help prevent weeds from growing through the finished surface.

This project was completed in two stages. After the initial site preparation, we paused while the swing set contractor delivered and assembled the new swing set. Once the installation was finished, we returned to fill the area with washed, playground-grade wood chips and spread them evenly throughout the pressure-treated border.

The finished result is a clean, safe, and durable outdoor play area that the customer’s children can enjoy for years to come.

We’ll also be returning this fall to repair and replace some of the worn-down grass around the project area, putting the final touches on this backyard transformation. 🌱💪

🚜 🪨 Another site prepped and ready for construction!

A local customer reached out to us after hiring an Amish contractor to build a custom gazebo. Before construction could begin, the area needed to be properly graded, stoned, and fitted with level foundation blocks.

Since the proposed location was on a slope, we graded the existing soil to create a flat building area while still following the natural grade to maintain proper drainage.

From there, we brought in approximately four tons of ¾-inch crushed stone and built a perfectly level 11-by-13-foot pad. We then placed nine concrete foundation blocks according to the gazebo measurements, making sure every block was level, square, and properly positioned.

We also removed an old 30x40x12-inch concrete step from a previous shed that the customer decided couldn’t be reused, clearing the way for a clean, finished setup.

The Amish contractors can now arrive and get right to work, knowing the gazebo will be built on a solid, properly prepared foundation.

We appreciate the opportunity to help another local customer get their project started the right way! 💪🏗️

Another pool pad wrapped up today for a local customer! 👊 🏊

The homeowner recently purchased an above-ground pool kit that included instructions for building the base. After getting started themselves, they quickly realized it wasn’t a job for hand tools and small equipment, so they gave us a call.

We got the site prepped by leveling out a 16’ × 24’ area, installing a pressure-treated timber border, and filling it with mason sand to create a smooth, compactable base that’s ready for the pool to be assembled.

Before we left, we made sure they had a little extra sand on-site so if any gets moved around during installation or a low spot needs to be touched up, they’ll have everything they need to finish the job.

It’s always rewarding helping local families tackle projects like these. We appreciate every customer who trusts us with their property, whether it’s a full site development, excavation, grading, drainage, or preparing the perfect foundation for a backyard project.

If you’ve got a project that requires the right equipment and experience, we’d be happy to help.

No job too tough no site too rough call us today 📞

Sometimes a project turns out to be bigger than anyone expects—and that’s exactly why we’re here.

Today we removed approximately 15 severely overgrown, neglected bushes for a customer. The original plan was to remove the bushes, excavate a 110’ x 6’ area to remove the roots and debris below ground, then refill it with fresh loam.

Once we got into the job, we quickly discovered the bushes had been there for decades. Their root systems had spread much farther than anticipated, so we adjusted our approach to remove everything the right way. In the end, we excavated roughly a 106’ x 8’ area, removed all of the roots and underground debris, and backfilled it with fresh loam. We also flared the edges into a smooth half-circle, creating a natural transition into the existing lawn and along the driveway.

Now the customer has a clean, fresh area that’s ready for new trees, shrubs, and a beautiful mulch bed.

One thing we enjoy is working with customers to fit their goals. In this case, the homeowner enjoys gardening and wanted to handle the planting and finishing touches themselves, so we stepped in to take care of the part that simply wasn’t practical to do by hand.

Whether you’re looking for a project completed from start to finish or just need help with the heavy excavation and labor-intensive portion, we’re happy to work with you. Every project is different, and we’re here to help in whatever way makes the most sense for you.

Every property has a story, and this one goes back many years
Before this neighborhood was developed, the land was part of a working farm. This particular lot once had a large barn located in what is now the backyard. When the development was built and the barn was removed, the area was never properly filled back in, leaving a steep slope that dropped into a large bowl-shaped depression.
While the yard looked great from a distance, it wasn’t very functional for a family looking to enjoy their outdoor space.
Our team was brought in to complete Phase 1 of the project, importing and placing nearly 500 yards of fill to reshape the terrain and create a much more usable backyard. By working with the natural drainage patterns already in place, we were able to establish a gentle, practical grade that will better serve the homeowners for years to come.
Now that Phase 1 is complete, the homeowners are deciding on the next step—whether to finish the area with fresh loam and grass or move forward with plans for a pool installation. Once that decision is made, we’ll be back to complete Phase 2.
We’re proud to help local homeowners solve long-standing property challenges and transform underutilized spaces into something their families can truly enjoy.

Another shed comes down.

This structure had seen better days. Leaks from worn-out shingles, years of moisture, and a damp location caused extensive rot throughout the building. The floor had multiple holes, and the shed was no longer safe or functional.

Today we demolished and removed it completely, giving the property a clean slate and eliminating a potential hazard.

If you have an old structure that’s become more of a liability than an asset, we’re always happy to take a look.
