Customer Inquiry about a Custom Cherry Wood Countertop shipped to NY.

Hi: I’m looking for an island top about 3’ X 5’ (thickness???) in cherry – would like the cherry to have some sap wood as I like the color variations. Do you make things like this? If yes, do you ship to Buffalo, NY area? Any ideas on approximate cost? Thanks

Yes, Yes, And Yes. Ordinary thickness on wood countertops is 1-5/8 inch. We will custom build this from raw lumber so you can specify any percentage of Sapwood, vs Heartwood. We could even go so far as to send pictures of the raw lumber at the lumberyard for your selection prior to fabrication. Prior to providing a quote, please specify; #1. Finish Type and Color. #2. Plank Size. Planks are usually selected to be 2”, 4”, 6”, or other. (We will always reverse grain upon laminating lumber planks to prevent cupping). Finishing selections to be made, Stain, or No? If so, What color? (We’ll send sample block for final approval Once selected), Lastly the Topcoat of the finish, Do you require a bio-digestible oil finish as would be the case if you want this to be real, working (cut/chop direct on) butcher-block countertops?. Otherwise, We Can use a Satin, Dull, or Gloss, alkyd based, conversion varnish finish as is the norm for a utility-decorative application. Please answer these questions and I’ll be happy to provide a quote with shipping to Buffalo, NY.
