For , we asked some of our HSE team members to share their top safety tips—and they all come back to one core principle:

"See something, say something."

Whether it's wearing PPE properly, staying alert in high-traffic zones, or speaking up about a hazard, every team member plays a role in keeping the jobsite safe. With more crew members than safety staff on site, everyone's awareness and action make all the difference. 🦺

🚧 Construction Safety Week is here! 🦺

This May 5–9, we pause to reflect on what matters most: making sure every single person on our jobsites goes home safe to their families at the end of the day.

This year’s theme — "All In Together" — is a powerful reminder that safety isn’t just a protocol; it’s a promise we make to one another.

Whether you're on the ground or leading the charge, we each play a role. From pre-task planning to final walkthroughs, every moment is a chance to look out for our team — to speak up, stay alert, and stand together.

Because safety isn’t something we do alone. It’s something we commit to — as one team.

Let’s carry that mindset not just this week, but every single day.

We’re all in. Together. He ʻOhana Kakou. 🏗️💙

Continuing our celebration of Women in Construction Week, a few of the ladies from our main office had the opportunity to tour the Ulana Ward Village project, and they were thrilled to see the incredible progress firsthand.

A special thank you to Brandee Toyama , P.E., Superintendent, for taking time out of your day to show us around and provide such valuable insights.

To kick-off celebrating Women in Construction, we will be featuring our very own women of Hawaiian Dredging throughout the month of March!

Meet Channey Wada, our Safety Administrator. Channey has been with Hawaiian Dredging for 6 years. Her career started with looking for a stable career and knowing that safety in construction would always be a critical need.

We asked her what advice does she have for women considering a career in construction?
“The construction industry is like a family—supportive and always looking out for one another. If you’re willing to learn and put in the effort, there’s a place for you here.”
