Check out this fantastic shot of our integrity maintenance inspector, Adan Torres, as he does a holiday detection test! Holiday detection, or continuity testing, is a non-destructive inspection procedure used to locate discontinuities or "holidays" in a coating film that are not readily visible. A holiday is a hole or void in the coating film which exposes the substrate to corrosion. This test is typically conducted on tank interiors, chemical storage vessels, and buried structures in an effort to maintain sufficient coating protection in harsh service environments.
