We removed the damaged flooring, blended in new red oak, and refinished everything so the repair disappears into the original floor. The goal is always the same: make it look like it was never touched.

Before we started, the plan was to replace an 8’ x 8’ rotted section of the deck.

Once demolition began, we uncovered extensive hidden rot extending beneath the remaining structure.

The client was prepared to leave the rest as-is, but once we saw what was underneath, we couldn’t cover it back up and walk away knowing it would likely become a bigger problem down the road.

That’s simply not how we work.

So we removed the remaining decking, repaired the additional compromised framing, and we’re treating all remaining support joists with a wood preservative to kill fungal decay and help protect against future rot.

Not because it was part of the scope.
Because it was the right way to do it.
