Earth Stone and Colours are giving $2000 in flooring materials to 50 families affect by Harvey - Giving a total of $100,000 to Our Community

Earth Stone and Colours are donating over $100,000 in products to those who need it the most.

Many homes in the greater Houston and surrounding areas have been hit very hard by the destruction caused by Hurricane Harvey. The damage repair is more than many homeowners can afford on their own.

Religious organizations are very aware at this time of such families and homes within their communities that need assistance. We will select 10 houses of worship that can provide us with the names and contact information of 50 deserving individuals and we will donate $2,000 to each of them for their selected homes.

We would like our clients to receive this generous donation. I am happy to help you get the needed information ready and help your church or other religious establishment prepare the letter.

They will be looking for the following information:

- Home Owners Names, Address, Contact Info and a short summary about their current circumstances.
- Photos of the damage by Hurricane Harvey.
-A description of the rooms that will need new flooring and the total square footage.
- A letter should be written by the Religious Establishment on their letter head that includes all of the information listed above.

Attention Hurricane Harvey Victims:

PLEASE DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT FOR DEMO WITH OUT GETTING 2 QUOTES FIRST!!!

And be sure to get a price in writing before you sign with anyone. If you don't this is what could happen...

1. The demo company will give you a price range (say $3,000 to $7,000) for the demo work.
2. They will complete the demo, likely in a day or less.
3. You will get a bill from the demo company that YOU have to pay. (Which could be the higher number...$7,000!)
4. Then you have to try to collect from your insurance company YOURSELF!

IF THE DEMO COMPANY BILLS YOU $7,000 AND YOUR INSURANCE ONLY APPROVES $4,000. YOU CAN BE FORCED TO EAT THE $3,000 DIFFERENCE.

At least if you get 2 QUOTES it will help you choose a reasonable price and it will also help you get reimbursed by your insurance company.

Flood Demo - Hurricane Harvey
What you need to know...

If you have Flood Insurance ALL Demo will be covered by your policy however there are some things you can begin yourself if you feel comfortable. Always get at least 2 quotes before you hire a company!!! If you can hire the same company for Demo and Repairs it will make working with the insurance company much easier.

1. Move all furniture and appliances that have been water logged outside. (Some furniture may be salvageable depending on degree of flooding and the material)
2. Remove all carpet and padding, wood flooring, linoleum/vinyl flooring. Tile can remain.
3. If there is any remaining water use a wet vac to remove it as well.
4. Depending on the amount of damage sheet rock removal is usually completed in 24 inch increments. Unless you feel very comfortable completing this step yourself, this is best left to a remodeling/demo company with experience.
5. Once the water and damaged contents (personal items and porous building materials like drywall, carpeting, padding, paneling, etc.) are removed, clean up the affected remaining areas, floors and walls with a good disinfectant such as Lysol. Once everything’s cleaned up, you can then disinfect everything a final time.
7. Now you need to get as many fans as possible, open the windows and let everything dry out as much as possible. This can take a week to two weeks depending on how much water was in your home. But it's very important to get everything as dry as possible before you begin rebuilding to prevent the threat of mold in the future.

Flooded? Here is what to do IF YOU HAVE FLOOD INSURANCE

1) Call your insurance company and file a Flood claim.
2) Get a claim number ******
3) Save receipts for everything you buy.
4) As soon as you get in your house take pictures.
5) Start compiling pictures of your home and all of your belongings prior to the storm if possible. Facebook may be a good resource for this.
6) Pull everything up that is damaged by water, floors, furniture etc. If you can cut your sheet rock do it... Or call CG Services at 281-391-9882 so they can assist.
7) Bleach things that can be saved.
8) Look for a reputable Water restoration company....your agent can refer you one.
9) You can contact a reputable company like CG Services to assist or you can wait for the adjuster to come out. However it could be 2 weeks or more before one gets to you.
10) Flood Insurance should cut a check with in a few days after the adjuster makes the claim.
