Ahoy, Matey! Make-A-Wish Texas Gulf Coast and Louisiana launched the Builders of Hope initiative after experiencing an increase in wishes for backyard playsets during the pandemic. Three of our Directors of Operations Ryan, Jason and Patrick along with our VP or Community Michael successfully completed Week #1 of Liam’s wish. Designed by Gensler, Liam wished for a pirate/boat-themed fort to have adventures with his little brother and friends. He wanted to be in an elevated space and feel transported to his own mini-place. Check out our Week #1 progress! Next up is to finish framing, then painting, decking, handrails and landscaping. What a treasure of a project for all the pirates involved.

This soon-to-be-stunning ballroom of the JW Marriott Houston Downtown Expansion is nearing completion and deserving of a Scheurich Selfie with the team! (We can see those chandeliers under the blue tape and coverings!) This historic restoration is an adaptive reuse and expansion project to connect with the existing five-star hotel. The expansion recently received permanent power two weeks ago, and the entire construction team has been working diligently to complete the luxurious project which is currently undergoing City of Houston final inspections for occupancy.

Cody Whipple joins Arch-Con, serving as vice president of Arch-Con’s Retail and Industrial Divisions in Dallas, leading business development, overseeing estimating and project roadmaps and completion. Whipple managed project roadmaps, ensuring alignment and timely decision-making for hundreds of projects nationwide for major corporations including Walmart, UPS and Public Storage. With nearly a decade of construction experience, Whipple led a team managing $800 million in annual bid volume. Fun Fact! Whipple is an avid golfer and played football for a year at Mizzou before transferring to Texas Tech to study mechanical engineering.

Texas Regional Physicians and Pathway Imaging are complete and serving patients in Sugar Land, Texas. Both are first generation build-outs located in the Arch-Con-built Imperial Village medical office building designed by Browne McGregor Architects Inc and developed by Bryant + Stacy Group.

Pathway Imaging is a 9,991-square-foot imaging center providing a wide range of imaging services, including MRI, CT, Bone Density, X-Ray, Ultrasound and Mammography.

Texas Regional Physicians is a 2,390-square-foot orthopedic practice located on the first floor featuring seven exam rooms, a procedure room, a waiting area, a restroom, a break room, a workstation and two physician’s offices.

A long time ago in a break room not so far away… fresh catered tacos 🌮 appeared. 💫 The Force is strong with this crew. 💫 So, it’s no surprise that sometime mid 'May the 4th' and Cinco de Mayo, our team uniquely celebrated both Star Wars and Cinco de Mayo in one afternoon! Progress update on Millie, the first phase of The Hangar multifamily development in Austin, Texas. The construction team is busy installing metal panels, balcony railing, sheetrock in the amenity space and corridors, cabinets, countertops, backsplash and tile surrounds.

Seco Ventures, in partnership with Riverside, is developing this 249-unit, five-story complex. Designed by KTGY, this 265,100-square-foot wrap-style building features two outdoor courtyards. A clever pass-through amenity connects the two courtyards on the first floor. The name ‘The Hangar’ pays homage to its location on Austin’s historic Haile Airfield, while also embracing the pioneering spirit of early aviation.

Arch-Con is pleased to promote Matt Norwood to vice president to lead Arch-Con’s Industrial Division in Central Texas. Norwood has been with Arch-Con since 2017, responsible for the project management of $500 million and 8 million square feet of industrial projects during his career at Arch-Con.

“Matt is the ultimate team player, leading with a servant leadership mindset and a work ethic that is second to none,” Director of Operations Joe Froyd said. “He consistently puts others first, takes care of his team and clients, and delivers results while elevating those around him.”
