Intuitive Machines has received an $8.2 million contract extension from the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory - AFRL to advance compact nuclear power technology that can operate where solar energy can’t, through the lunar night and beyond.

These systems could one day power spacecraft, planetary habitats, and national security missions in deep space, moving us closer to continuous operations on the Moon. This month, we celebrated our 200th day of hot fire testing on the Mobile Test Stand (MTS)—a huge milestone on our journey to provide orbital and surface delivery services!

Christened in March 2019, the MTS includes the avionics and propulsion systems required to perform development testing and performance verification of our main engine, motor valves, and avionics systems.

The series of tests executed on our 200th test day advanced our performance, cooling, and stability objectives for the IM-3 main engine injector.

We’ve secured a $9.8M Phase Two government contract to advance our Orbital Transfer Vehicle (OTV) through Critical Design Review—the final step before manufacturing begins.

Built on our flight-proven Nova-C lander platform, the OTV is designed to move payloads across orbits, supporting a wide range of destinations from Earth orbit to the Moon and beyond, including:

-Medium Earth Orbit (MEO)
-Geostationary Orbit (GEO)
-Low Lunar Orbit (LLO)
-Interplanetary Destinations
