Class 150 and Class 300 do not bolt together. Same 2" pipe, same bore, different fl**ge. A 2" Class 150 raised face under ASME B16.5 is 6.00" across with 4 holes on a 4.75" bolt circle. The 2" Class 300 is 6.50" across with 8 holes on a 5.00" circle. The class on the rim tells you the rating. The table tells you whether it mates.

A 304/304L fl**ge is not a compromise between two grades. It is one fl**ge that passes both certs.

The L cert means low carbon, so it welds without carbide problems. The plain 304 cert means it still carries the full pressure rating of straight 304. If the line gets welded, and most do, dual grade is what you want.

Over 800°F it flips. That is 304H territory, where the extra carbon is there on purpose for heat resistance.

ASME B16.5 stops at NPS 24.

Above that you are in B16.47, and the first thing to settle is
Series A or Series B. They are not interchangeable.

Series A has the larger outside diameter and fewer, larger bolts.
It is the more common pick on new construction. Series B is lighter,
with a smaller bolt circle and more, smaller bolts. Putting one
against the other does not work.

Series A and B through NPS 60, plus custom sizes past that:
