We’re sharing a closer look at the technology and design features that will set the Oklahoma Primary Aluminum facility apart from older smelters and reflect a new standard in modern aluminum production.

At the center of the project is Emirates Global Aluminum (EGA) technology refined over 10 generations of innovation and designed to reduce electricity use per ton of aluminum by 37.5%, significantly improving efficiency and environmental performance.

Our partner, EGA America, is excited to welcome Rogers State University student Briana Maytas as a summer Finance Intern in the St. Louis sales office.

We first connected with Briana in March during a career exploration event at RSU. Opportunities like these reflect our ongoing commitment to engage with local communities, strengthen partnerships and create meaningful career pathways for students and residents interested in the growing aluminum industry.

Following the event, Briana expressed a strong interest in the aluminum industry and the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a global business environment.

Community questions and feedback continue shape conversations around the Oklahoma Primary Aluminum project, especially when it comes to jobs and economic opportunity.

Based on current projections, the project is expected to create approximately 1,000 direct jobs, 2,000 indirect jobs and nearly 4,000 construction jobs. In addition, the project is estimated to generate $1.3 billion in tax revenue over the next 30 years, which would support local schools, roads, utilities, and essential services like police and fire.

Emirates Global Aluminum has been named one of the 10 Most Influential Manufacturing and Logistics Companies of 2026 by TIME Magazine, a recognition that underscores the global significance of Oklahoma Primary Aluminum.

In partnership with U.S.-based Century Aluminum, the company is planning to build the first primary aluminum production facility in the United States in 50 years at the Tulsa Port of Inola. The project is expected to nearly double domestic aluminum production capacity while creating approximately 1,000 jobs, strengthening the nation’s ability to support critical industries such as aerospace, defense and automotive manufacturing.
