What size units do you stock? We commonly stock 9k BTU (approximately 450 SF or a small bedroom), 12k BTU (approximately 600 SF or a small living room), 18k BTU (approximately 900 SF or a garage) and 23k BTU (approximately 1150 SF or a small house) units. Do you have (or can you order) something specific that I’m looking for outside of what you commonly stock? Contact us, we’d be happy to check! How many BTUs per square foot should I calculate? In general, you should calculate 20-30 BTUs per square foot. More or fewer BTUs are needed depending on insulation, climate, ceiling height, windows and which direction they face, etc. If in doubt, bigger is always better! What type of dwellings can these be installed in? If you can dream it, we can do it! These mini split units can be installed in garages, offices, one-bedroom studios, she-sheds, portable buildings, handy houses, Airbnb’s… the list is endless! Do mini splits provide both heating and cooling? Mini splits provide both heating and cooling, eliminating the need for separate units for each. What are the pros of a mini split unit over a traditional HVAC system? Mini splits are great for areas like older homes or additions where traditional ductwork is impractical or difficult. How long does the installation take? Installation takes 2-4 hours depending on height and complexity. What if my installation is not on ground level? That’s not a problem and won’t cost extra, but please give us a heads-up if your installation is located on the second story or higher so we can come prepared with the right equipment to keep our technician safe. How much is the installation? Installation is $600 plus the cost of the unit and comes with a 2–5-year warranty depending on the brand of unit purchased. Suzuki units come with a five-year warranty and Everwell units come with a two-year warranty. Can I purchase a unit without installation? Absolutely! 12k BTU units are $600, 18k BTU units are $900, and 23k BTU units are $1200. A warranty is available with B&L Mechanical LLC installation only. Where do I pick up a unit I’ve purchased if I did not purchase installation? We are happy to meet you near our warehouse on the west side of Jacksonville for pickup! Please keep in mind that units purchased without installation do not include a warranty. How long does it take after contacting you to get a unit installed? Most of the time, we can install it within one week, but if you need it sooner, contact us and we’ll work with you! What are your appointment times for installation? We begin our installations at 8am, 12pm, and 4pm. What if those installation times don’t work for me? Contact us, we’re happy to work with you! Do the units come with a warranty? How long do the units last? Typical lifespan of a unit is 10-15 years depending on usage pattern and maintenance. Why are these units better than window AC units, space heaters, or even traditional HVAC systems? These units are very energy efficient and pull a third to a quarter of the power of a window AC unit and eliminates energy losses associated with ductwork, saving you money on your utility bill every month!
