Who thinks about how the water interacts with a building? It should be considered during design but most of the time it isn’t.

Not willing to pay for temporary protection = 🚩🚩🚩

It’s part of the cost of doing the work correctly. If a client isn’t willing to pay for temporary protection, then you as a builder take all the risk to protect the work that was already put in place. If you’ve been in construction more than 5 min you know that s**t happens and someone will drop a tool or paint, glue, red chalk, chicken grease, etc on your finished work.
