Hi everyone,
I just wanted to give you an update on the current state of the X4 project. At this point I have 3 drones in testing. A 13in (pictured), an 11in based on the same core as the 13in, and an 11in based on the Kestrel.
At this point the 13in is showing a lot of promise. It's been awesome to fly and I think that it will be great for pilots that want a lifter to go fast and cover lots of ground. It's far more maneuverable and quicker than all of my previous 13in drones. After another revision it should be good to go for public consumption.
The 11in setups have been a bit trickier to nail down. I really like the 11in Kestrel, but in it's current state it just can't fit 12s ESCs. The one based on the 13in has been good, but I honestly prefer the Kestrel platform at this size. With the new batch of 12s electronics like the Lumenier 12s 4in1 I should be able to adapt/optimise the Kestrel platform for 12s X4 use. At this time I think I'm going to wait a bit just to ensure compatibility with the upcoming ESCs that I keep hearing about.
I also want to apologize for the lack of content and updates that I've been posting. I managed to really mess up my shoulder again and I've been having a heck of a time getting out and flying big drones. I have an operation scheduled for early December so I should be back at it mid/late January.
