This is a Sloan DSG84000-ENC Corian Solid Surface sink with EAF-250 Optima sensor faucets. The faucets come equipped with side-mount manual mixer controls. It is always nice to see the finished product and a job well done.

As we the professionals start to reexamine the way we design and spec bathrooms, and the standards that go into them. Small simple solutions like the one that Sloan does to apply their SloanTec Hydrophobic Glaze can be a small fix that goes a long way.

Sloan's innovations go beyond function and water savings, they also do the same with the looks and design of their products as well. This is the case of the EAF-225 hardwired sensor faucet. The faucet comes with what is usually an option with the side mount mixer, but they take it one step further by providing with an illuminating ring at the top of the faucet. It is an LED ring that will glow at the temperature the side mixer is set on. It really sets the faucet off from the others and it makes for an effect that really pops. These were installed at a restaurant in Sevierville, TN.

When I first heard the term I was unfamiliar with it. For 20+ years of doing plumbing design I very rarely came across the need or design requirements that required such a need. But when I transitioned from design to sales, one of the companies I now represent, Willoughby Industries, are experts. They are a company very few people hear about, but what they do is very much needed. They mainly manufacture fixtures and devices for Security (Penal, Jails and Prisons), Healthcare (Hospitals) and Behavioral Health (Mental Illness, Depression and Ultimately those with Suicidal Tendencies).

For 95+ of us, we will probably never have to come in contact with any of those items that Willoughby Industries manufacturers. But rest assure, they take ultimate pride and do their due diligence when researching and manufacturing product. It takes a special type of people whom make it their lively hood to protect those whom wish to do harm to themselves or others. And ultimately, that is what Anti-Ligature is. To keep those whom wish to do harm to themselves from doing so when simply going to the restroom, or placed in a private setting.

Recently for a new hospital project in Knoxville, such a bathroom was required. We were glad to have worked with the project team to provide such items, made of the highest quality to deliver and meet the needs that were required to be Anti-Ligature.
