🔍 What We Found This Weekend | Summerville

This weekend, Noah responded to a “no cool” service call and found one of the most common causes of an air conditioner suddenly stopping: a failed capacitor.

A capacitor helps start your outdoor fan motor and compressor. When it fails, your system may stop cooling—even though it’s calling for air.

Thankfully, this was one we could diagnose, repair, and get back to cooling for the homeowner.

One of the little tools that can prevent a pretty big headache. 👀

This is a Gallo Gun, and our technicians use it to clear clogged condensate drain lines.

As your AC removes moisture from the air, that water drains away through a condensate line. Over time, algae and debris can cause it to clog—sometimes shutting your system down or even causing water damage.

It’s one of the things we check during routine maintenance to help catch a small problem before it becomes a service call.

A little preventative care can go a long way toward keeping your home comfortable.

After a lightning strike caused electrical damage throughout this home, it also left the wine cellar cooling system inoperable.

Our technician diagnosed the failed control system and recommended a solution to restore reliable temperature and humidity control - helping protect the homeowner's wine collection for years to come.

🏡 Have a Room That's Always Hard to Keep Comfortable?

Mini-split systems can be a great solution for spaces where extending or modifying your home's existing HVAC system may not be practical.

Depending on the space, they can be an option for spaces like sunrooms, home additions, converted garages, etc. providing heating and cooling directly to that space. Recently, our team installed a mini-split in a classroom that was experiencing similar comfort issues.

The best HVAC repairs aren't just about fixing what's broken.

Sometimes, the repair itself requires opening your air conditioner's sealed refrigerant system. When that happens, there's one small part we automatically replace: the filter drier.

The filter drier helps remove moisture and contaminants from the refrigerant, protecting the system from the inside.

Once that sealed system has been opened, replacing the filter drier is a standard part of completing the repair properly. Even if the original filter drier isn't leaking or visibly damaged, installing a new one helps protect the system before it's sealed back up.

It's one of those details most homeowners will never see, but it's part of doing the job the right way—not just getting it running again.
