1981 – The first IFE system designed and produced by Matsush*ta (PES/PSS - Passenger Entertainment System / Passenger Service System) is installed on the B767-200
1982 – B767s equipped with the industry's first cassette tape playback system go into service
1983 – B767s equipped with the industry's first cassette tape playback system go into service
1984 – Matsush*ta develops a Digital Audio Entertainment System (DAES) for single aisle aircraft, installed by Douglas on the MD-80
The 90's ( a decade of innovation in passenger entertainment):
1990 – EI establishes Matsush*ta Avionics Development Corporation (MADC) in Irvine, California
1992 – Matsush*ta Avionics Systems Corporation introduces System 2000
1995 – Matsush*ta Avionics Systems Corporation launches System 2000E, providing interactivity and telephony
1998 – Matsush*ta Avionics Systems Corporation introduces AVOD 1.0, its first-generation AVOD system, giving passengers control over their audio and video entertainment
1999 – Matsush*ta Avionics Systems Corporation introduces AVOD 1.5, its second-generation AVOD enhancement to System 2000E, expanding the system's audio and video libraries by a factor of five

2001 – Matsush*ta Avionics Systems Corporation and Singapore Airlines test System 3000 on the same SIA 747-400 that hosted the first installation of System 2000E
2001 – Matsush*ta Avionics Systems Corporation announces development of iXplor™, a software-based interactive flight information and mapping application that will allow passengers to explore their world below
2001 – Matsush*ta Avionics Systems Corporation announces development of System 3000i. The "i" is for Internet, providing a 100Mb Ethernet interface at the passenger seat for laptop connectivity
2003 – Matsush*ta Avionics Systems Corporation launches eFX on Song Airlines, Delta's low-fare airline with live all-digital satellite television
2003 – Matsush*ta Avionics Systems Corporation announces the development of eX2, the newest wide-body system, launching with the A380
2004 – Boeing announces Matsush*ta Avionics Systems as the Cabin Services System Supplier for the 787
2005 – On April 1, 2005 Matsush*ta Avionics Systems Corporation becomes Panasonic Avionics Corporation
2005 – Boeing announces Panasonic Avionics Corporation eX2 catalog selectable IFE for the 787
2006 – Panasonic Avionics Corporation launches a global communication service that delivers broadband data and digital voice communications services to aircraft, including live television
2006 – Panasonic Avionics Corporation launches eX2 on Singapore Airlines
