Students at Havasu Preparatory Academy started week 3 of our HavasuSTEAM after-school club. Today, they had a blast learning about the basics of microscopes and biological research. They observed the creation of tissue sample slides using exotic mushrooms donated by White Harte Farms!

What you’re seeing here is a photo of an onion epidermis. It was captured by a student using a microscope camera attachment! Look closely and you can see the dark nucleus spheres inside the cell where all of the plant’s DNA is held.

Motors are soldered, and circuit boards are being powered up for testing...these HPA robotic engineers in the making are hard at work preparing for their upcoming robo-battles.

BattleBot week is in full swing at Havasu Preparatory Academy for our Havasu S.T.E.A.M. After-School Workshops!

Students are busy using their supplied parts kits and will visually reverse engineer our instructor’s example-bot “Spin Destroy” to create their own versions.

Once the robots are constructed, we move onto each BattleBot team creating their branding colors, logo, and robot paint scheme for their team! Then....we destroy it, fix it, and repeat! 😎🤯🤩

We are busy developing custom Havasu S.T.E.A.M. after-school experiences for our friends at Havasu Preparatory Academy! We can’t wait to see their 4th to 8th grade students dive into a wide range of STEAM activities!

HPA Students will have opportunities to build and battle robots, code drones to run obstacle courses, experience chemistry experiments, and even watch a live demonstration of the research processes used when dissecting a real dogfish shark!
