Throwback to our Goshen, NY bridge strike repair! 🔧

When a beam strike damaged a girder, our crew supervised and assisted with heat straightening and girder replacement, and kept traffic moving the whole time.

Sam Brandt, PE, MS and Lucas Bradley, EIT recently presented an over-height collision case study at the Northeast / Midwest Bridge Preservation Partnership Annual Meeting in Chicago.

The bridge carries SR 207 over Route 6 in Goshen, New York. It was struck in December 2024 and again in 2025, and the second strike caused full section loss through the web of the fascia girder. The team used NYSDOT's flown LiDAR data and NCHRP 271 strain limits to set the repair limits, kept the structure stable with a strongback beam, heat straightened the adjacent steel, and installed two new tee sections during 15 minute rolling closures.

As HSE continues to expand our capabilities, capacity, and project portfolio, Cory will play an important role in supporting our project management efforts and helping drive successful project ex*****on.
Cory brings 12 years of experience with High Steel Structures, beginning his career in fabrication and spending six years developing hands-on expertise before advancing into leadership roles. His background spans operations at both the Williamsport and Lancaster plants, providing him with a deep understanding of steel fabrication, production, and team leadership.
We are excited to have Cory's knowledge, experience, and commitment to excellence on the HSE team as we continue to safely and efficiently deliver complex projects for our customers.
