🚧 Meet the Team Monday | Erika Rodriguez, Assistant Project Manager

At Park Avenue Construction TNG, we believe the people behind the work are what truly move our projects forward. This week, we’re proud to introduce Erika Rodriguez, whose experience, perspective, and dedication make her a valued part of our team.

Erika’s story with Park Avenue Construction began in 2006 while she was pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Spanish Literature with a major in Translation at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU). Her education, combined with her natural communication and people skills, laid the foundation for a career built on connection, collaboration and understanding.

After spending more than a decade in construction, Erika stepped away from the industry to pursue a career in interpreting while raising her two sons. Years later, she returned to the construction industry—and to Park Avenue—bringing with her a deeper understanding of communication, organization, and the importance of building strong relationships.

Today, as an Assistant Project Manager, Erika helps keep projects moving by coordinating with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and our internal teams. Her bilingual background and multicultural perspective bring an added layer of value to the work she does every day.

Born in Mexico City and raised between Mexico and Laredo, Erika carries the experiences and perspectives of both cultures into everything she does. She is also grateful for the mentorship and guidance of Tabitha J. Lopez, whose leadership has played an important role in her continued growth.

Outside of work, you’ll find Erika running, traveling, cooking, baking, or spending time with her two sons. She’s an animal lover and avid reader who also enjoys writing poetry and exploring the works of her favorite Spanish and Latin American authors.

The strength of Park Avenue Construction TNG (The Next Generation) comes from the people who bring experience, leadership, and dedication to everything we do.

This week, get to know Raquel Uvalle, our Executive Director. With 30 years of experience in the construction industry, Raquel has been part of the Park Avenue story since 1993. After stepping away for a few years, she returned to Park Avenue in 2023, reigniting her passion for the industry and continuing to play an important role in shaping the company’s future.

In her role, Raquel oversees overall operations and staff, develops strategies to keep projects on track, and works closely with project budgets to promote efficiency and successful delivery.

Raquel takes pride in the closeness she shares with her family, especially in her role as a mom. She is currently raising and nurturing her youngest daughter, Mikayla, while also having the opportunity to work alongside her daughter, Tabitha, and son, Cristian — making Park Avenue truly a family operation and bringing the meaning of “The Next Generation” to life. She has also raised her oldest daughter, Alexa, to be a strong and independent woman who has built a life outside of Laredo. Through it all, Raquel continues to guide, support, and cheer on each of her children, whether they are near or far. Outside of work and family, she enjoys traveling, making jewelry, caring for her home and dog, enjoying good food, and staying grounded in faith and meaningful relationships.

Her experience, perspective, and leadership are an important part of what makes the next generation of Park Avenue possible. 🏗️

🚧 Meet the Team Monday | Carlos Velez, Field Operations

Every project has a vision. Behind that vision is a team working in the field to make it happen.

At Park Avenue Construction TNG (The Next Generation), Carlos Velez is one of the people helping turn plans into progress.

Carlos began his career in construction in 2012 and joined the Park Avenue family in 2018. With more than a decade of experience in the industry, he brings a hands-on, field-driven perspective to every project he works on throughout the South Texas market.

As part of Field Operations, Carlos works closely with our sales team and Senior Project Manager to help guide projects from preconstruction through completion. His role includes field coordination, schedule management, subcontractor oversight, estimating support, material procurement, and pricing negotiations—all with a focus on keeping projects on track without compromising quality.

For Carlos, successful construction is about more than meeting a schedule or a budget. It’s about finding the right solutions, building strong relationships, and delivering work that continues to provide value long after a project is complete.

As Park Avenue Construction moves forward into its next generation, Carlos continues to help strengthen our field operations and uphold the standards, relationships, and commitment to quality that have been part of the Park Avenue legacy for decades.

🚧 Meet the Team Monday | Tabitha Jade Velez, Senior Project Manager

At Park Avenue Construction TNG (The Next Generation), our future is built on the people who have helped shape our legacy.

Get to know one of the people helping shape the future of Park Avenue Construction TNG—Tabitha Jade Velez, our Senior Project Manager.

Tabitha has been part of the Park Avenue family business since she was just 14 years old, giving her 23 years of experience in the construction industry. Under the mentorship of Raquel, she began by answering phones, filing paperwork, and shadowing site visits. As the years progressed, she expanded her expertise in takeoffs, coordinating subcontractors, running plans and materials, and working alongside city officials and inspectors.

Today, Tabitha manages and estimates projects while coordinating with city officials and inspectors, helping bring each client’s vision to life with precision, care, and a deep understanding of every stage of the construction process.

She also holds a Bachelor of Arts with a focus in drawing, painting, and photography, bringing both creativity and attention to detail to every project she oversees. Her journey reflects what The Next Generation stands for—honoring the foundation that built Park Avenue while continuing to grow, innovate, and lead the way forward.

When she’s away from the office, Tabitha is a proud bibliophile and self-proclaimed certified cat lady who enjoys spending quiet time with her husband and their seven cats. 📚🐈
