What: Mobile Food Market - Distribute food from a semi-truck into trunks or backseats of vehicles
When: Saturday, October 24, 2020, 8:45 am – 11:00 am
Where: Orr Middle School (1562 E Katie Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89119).
Gloves will be provided. Just One Project is asking volunteers to bring their own masks...they can be homemade.

2019-20 ASCE Southern Nevada Branch President’s Farewell and Thank you!!

Dear ASCE Southern Nevada Branch Members:

As my ASCE Southern Nevada Branch presidency draws to a close, it’s time to look back and reflect upon what we have accomplished together this challenging year. I would like to highlight some of our accomplishments for this year.

Accomplishments:
1. Fall Transportation Conference from October 30-31, 2019
2. The Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) USA Chapter Gathering in October 12-13, 2019
3. Nevada Test Site Technical Tour on November 11, 2019
4. Engineer Without Borders Bi-Annual Bowling Tournament in November 2019.
5. Allegiant Stadium Technical Tour on December 20, 2019
6. Moving America Forward: A Presidential Candidate Forum on Infrastructure at UNLV on February 16, 2020
7. Engineers Week in February 2020
8. Virtual Luncheon Meetings from June 2020
9. First International speaker presented at our July 2020 virtual luncheon meeting from India

I would like to thank the board members of SNB, YMF, UNLV Student Chapter, and the Nevada Section for their continued support in achieving above accomplishments. I would also like to thank the Southern Nevada Branch Members and Sponsors for their generous support in this challenging year.

As I say farewell, I hope that I made a positive impact on the ASCE Southern Nevada Branch. I’ve been touched both personally and professionally in so many ways by the experience. Thank you for giving me this opportunity!!

Thank Congress for Approving FAST Act Extension

This evening the Senate passed a 1-year extension of the FAST Act to ensure that surface transportation programs did not expire today, September 30th.

Please take a moment to thank your Members of Congress for extending the FAST Act for 1-year and encourage them to now make the investments that are necessary in our surface transportation network.
