Attention homeowners! Our industry is yet again is going through another refrigerant change and yes the scare tactics have already begun.
At James Parker Heating & Cooling we strive to provide the customer with the best information available to help them make the best decision not scare tactics, pressure sales, & plans/agreements with so called discounts.

Ex. - these new units wonโ€™t be compatible with the old units/refrigerant - never have been you canโ€™t mix & match equipment designed to operate with specified refrigerant with that of another piece of equipment designed for specified refrigerant. Anyone who says they can is lying and breaking the law due to the fact that all installs will meet the Department of Energyโ€™s guidelines.

Is the new refrigerant flammable? Yes
Is it explosive? Yes in a confined space could be but we are talking about an act of God situation there
Are there safety devices for flammability & explosiveness- yes
Have the refrigerants been tested? Extensively as well as r-32 has been around & in use for years.
Does it perform well? Yes

So whatโ€™s the wrap up here?
You as a homeowner do not need to hastily replace your current unit to keep from having to purchase one with the new refrigerant.
Look folks we have survived r12 to r-134 change over r- 22 to r-410a y2k Clinton , Bush, Obama, Trump, & Biden Iโ€™m confident we will survive this refrigerant change
