This week, SPP unveiled a new brand and released Powering Progress Together, a report highlighting the value we deliver across our 17-state service territory.

The report outlines four dimensions of value, reliability, affordability, economic growth, and trust through transparent governance and independent oversight. Through collaboration with regional stakeholders, SPP delivers $4.7 billion in net annual savings each year and supports the management of 86,000 miles of transmission lines and more than 1,000 generators serving more than 20 million people across the region.

Today, SPP is celebrating the successful expansion of its service territory into the western part of the nation’s power grid making it the first regional transmission organization (RTO) with services spanning the two major grid regions.

Following months of intensive testing and coordination with participating utilities, the expansion officially went live at midnight on April 1. This milestone extends the SPP footprint across seven western states and positions members to benefit from a more connected and reliable energy system.
