From construction to completion.

The client built this backyard ADU to support multigenerational living for their 93-year-old mother and adult sister. The ADU provides a safe, independent home close to family after the client’s mother lost her home in the Palisades fire.

This 940 sq ft, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom ADU in Van Nuys came together through a thoughtful design and construction process, follow along as we highlight the design features incorporated into this home.

The finished space features a vaulted living room ceiling, high windows that bring in natural light, a full kitchen, built-in storage, and in-unit laundry.

The primary bathroom also includes a curbless shower and grab bars, incorporating accessibility into the home while keeping the design clean and residential.
