Sometimes taking the High Road means delivering news a homeowner doesn’t want to hear.

We recently helped a homeowner who wanted to switch from fuel oil to natural gas to lower his heating bills. His boiler was installed in 2019, so keeping it seemed like a sensible plan.

After being told the conversion could be done by another contractor, he had natural gas brought to his home and a new meter installed. He then contacted High Road to connect the boiler and complete the conversion as the other contractor could not find the conversion kit needed.

But when we reviewed the manufacturer’s manual, we found a problem: his boiler is not approved for conversion to natural gas.

Unfortunately, his options are to continue using fuel oil with his existing boiler or replace it with a boiler designed for natural gas. That’s frustrating news after the time and money he’s already invested.
