Digable Planets is an American hip hop trio formed in 1987, consisting of Ishmael "Butterfly" Butler, Mariana "Ladybug Mecca" Vieira, and Craig "Doodlebug" Irving. Known for their jazz rap and alternative hip hop style, they released their debut album, "Reachin' (A New Refutation of Time and Space)," in 1993, featuring the hit single "Rebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat)," which won a Grammy. Their second album, "Blowout Comb" (1994), had a darker, more political tone. The group disbanded in 1995 but reunited in 2005 for tours and released "Beyond the Spectrum: The Creamy Spy Chronicles." They held reunion tours in 2016 and released a live album in 2017. Members have pursued solo projects, with Butler forming Shabazz Palaces, Irving performing as Cee Knowledge, and Vieira releasing solo work and collaborating with other artists.🎼🥰📀🎵💎💞
