Some moments are bigger than words. 🥹❤️💛🖤

In 2015, I walked across the stage at Clark Atlanta University with a degree in Fashion Design, carrying dreams I had no idea how life would unfold.

Fast forward to 2026, and I’m returning to my alma mater, not just as an alumna, but as an official vendor for Homecoming, representing a business I built from the ground up. 🥹✨

The same place that helped shape my creativity is now welcoming me back as an entrepreneur. From being a student with a vision to becoming a business owner living that vision.

Life has a beautiful way of bringing you back to where it all began, only this time, you’re standing in the very things you once dreamed about.

This isn’t just Homecoming. This is a full-circle moment. ❤️

Forever proud to be a Clark Atlanta University alumna. ❤️🖤

There’s something about wearing a mask necklace that shifts something in me.

I feel taller.
Stronger.
A little closer to the people who came before me.

It’s hard to explain, but it feels like carrying a piece of them with me — like memory around my neck. Like protection. Like power. Like a quiet reminder that I come from somewhere, and that somewhere still lives in me.

Every time I put one on, I feel a little more rooted. A little more sure of myself. A little more on top of the world.

We just added a few new handcrafted pieces from Burkina Faso to the Faces of the Divine Collection.

And maybe that’s what I love most about them.

They don’t just feel beautiful.

They feel like home.

The headpiece that starts conversations. ✨ Cowrie shells have long symbolized wealth, protection, beauty, and power across Africa and the diaspora—and this piece brings all of that energy into one unforgettable look.

Cowrie shells have carried stories of wealth, protection, beauty, and divine energy for generations. ✨

And this one? Oh, it’s going to start a conversation.

The kind of headpiece that turns heads, gets compliments, and has somebody asking, “Where did you get that?”

Fewer than 10 of the long cowrie shell headpieces are left, and once they’re gone, the next drop will feature shorter styles. 🤎

Some things are worn. Some things are carried. 🐚✨

Cowrie shells have crossed waters, generations, and hands. They have spoken of wealth, protection, spirit, and the sacred. Long before they became something beautiful to wear, they already carried meaning.

Our cowrie shell headpieces sold out the last time they made their way into the world… and now, more have arrived. Each one different. Each one moving in its own rhythm. Each one added to our Malkia wa Bahari — Queen of the Sea Collection.

A little sea.
A little spirit.
A little remembrance.
Something ancestral resting upon the crown. 🐚

And these beauties are traveling with me.

Texas, I’m on my way. ✈️🤎

✨ Saturday — The Vanguard
✨ Sunday — Black on the Block®

The last ones found their people quickly.
Maybe one of these has been waiting for you.

Mother Nature gon’ Mother Nature. 🌧️😂

Despite every challenge that presented itself, WE MADE IT. ✨

Afro Plus Fest got a later start today, officially opening at 4 PM because Mother Nature had other plans — but the booth is UP, the jewelry is OUT, and we are here. 🙌🏾

Sometimes the plan shifts. Sometimes you have to pivot. And sometimes you just have to trust that you’ll get where you’re supposed to be.

After everything it took to get here, seeing this booth finally come together feels GOOD. 🥹✨

To Live A Colorful Life is officially outside at Afro Plus Fest. Come find us, come adorn yourself, and come see what we brought to the DMV. 🤎

Dropped some new goodies… because adornment has always been more than decoration. ✨

Before we ever called it fashion, we adorned ourselves.

We wrapped meaning around our wrists.
Carried stories from our ears.
Placed symbols of protection, beauty, spirit, lineage and memory against our skin.

Because sometimes the body wants to speak before the mouth ever opens.

A little brass.
A little cowrie.
A little something shaped by hands that still remember.
Something that feels found, familiar, ancestral… even when you can’t quite explain why.

That’s the kind of adornment I love.

Pieces that don’t simply complete an outfit — they carry something.
Pieces that make you stand a little taller.
Pieces that feel like they were waiting for you to find them.

✨ All of the new pieces are available online now. Shop from wherever you are, or come see them in person tomorrow.

And you know I had to bring some new energy with me to D.C. 🌿✨

See you tomorrow at Black Girl Art Show D.C.
📍 Ga***rd National Resort & Convention Center
🗓️ Saturday, August 29
⏰ 3–9 PM

Come find the piece that speaks your name before you even put it on.

There are some things we wear simply because they’re beautiful… and then there are things that carry a story. 🐚

For generations, cowrie shells have traveled through African cultures as symbols of wealth, prosperity, protection, femininity, and connection to the water. Once used as currency across parts of Africa, these tiny shells have adorned crowns, clothing, jewelry, and hair—carrying meaning long before they ever became a trend.

Maybe that’s why they feel so familiar.

Like something pulled from the ocean and passed through generations. 🌊

We introduced our handcrafted cowrie shell headpieces thinking they would simply be another beautiful addition to our collection.

Y’all had other plans. 😂

Every single one was gone in ONE weekend.

So yes… the ocean is calling again. 🐚

RESTOCK COMING SOON.

What a weekend! 🖤✨

We’re officially on the way back home to LA, and we just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who came out and showed love to To Live a Colorful Life!

From Black Wall Street Festival in New Haven, Connecticut to Harlem Day in Harlem, New York — y’all kept us BUSY! 🙌🏾 So busy that this is literally the only video we got… and we only managed to capture ONE of our tables! 😂

We met so many amazing people, saw so many new faces, and felt so much love this weekend. Connecticut + Harlem, THANK YOU for coming out, shopping with us, and supporting our small business. 🫶🏾

Until next time! ✈️❤️
