We had a great time on Saturday at the 4th annual New England STEM Symposium!! This year's event was hosted by the Dartmouth Cancer Center.

Students from all over New England presented their research in professional poster sessions, had lunch with STEM professionals, and enjoyed some great talks!

Thank you to our staff and the staff of DCC for making this event possible!

Your generosity this Giving Tuesday brought us one big step closer to sending 22 NHAS students to the 24th World Orchid Conference in Dresden, Germany (March 2026)!

Because of your support, you helped make this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity a reality for our students.

Last year, six NHAS students attended the conference and proudly earned the Young Investigators Award, an honor typically reserved for Ph.D. students. Your generosity ensures that even more young scientists can experience that same growth, inspiration, and success.

From all of us at NHAS, thank you for believing in our mission and helping us empower the next generation of STEM leaders.

P.S. If you haven’t donated yet, you can donate still donate below. Thank you.

Today is Giving Tuesday!

Join us in celebrating the power of generosity and opportunity.

At NHAS, we’re on a mission to raise the final $2,000 needed to send 22 incredible students to the 24th World Orchid Conference in Dresden, Germany (March 2026).

Last year, 6 NHAS students attended and proudly brought home the Young Investigators Award — an honor usually reserved for Ph.D. students! Their experience proved just how capable and inspiring our young STEM leaders are.

Now, we’re giving even more students that same life-changing opportunity — and we need your help today to make it happen!

Every dollar makes a difference. Every gift opens doors.
Give today and help our students shine on the global stage.

The season of giving thanks is here!

At NHAS, we’re grateful every day for the chance to inspire the next generation of STEM leaders.

This Giving Tuesday (Dec 2nd), we’re raising funds to send 22 students to the 24th World Orchid Conference in Dresden, Germany (March 2026).

Last year, 6 NHAS students attended — and came home with the Young Investigators Award, a distinction usually earned by Ph.D. students!

We’ve already raised $8,000 toward our $10,000 goal — and we need your help to raise the final $2,500 on Giving Tuesday.

Your donation helps students grow, discover, and shine on a global stage.

We've been working on a new research project in the After School program! A couple students working with Prof. Olivia have started tackling putting together a cat skeleton we got through Carolina Biologics. This is a great practice in comparative anatomy. Vertebrates have a lot of similar structures, but they differ according to the species life history differences.

Last couple of Wednesdays we have been working through identifying all the wee tiny bones that make up the "wrist" and "ankles" of the cat, the carpal and tarsal bones. With their size, these are some of the most difficult areas of the skeleton, and look much different than the larger seal flipper bones Prof. Olivia is used to. Everyone likes a good puzzle though, and skeletons are the ultimate jigsaw puzzle!
