Corrosion Technicians are responsible for identifying atmospheric corrosion and abnormal operating conditions on gas meter sets. As a Corrosion Technician for AGD, you will inspect the meter set for atmospheric corrosion and abnormal operating conditions and document findings accurately. This is an entry-level position. Experience is not required, and we provide training.
Responsibilities & Skills required for the position:
Evaluate abnormal operating conditions of meters
Atmospheric corrosion inspection of above-ground structures
Ability to walk/stand for long periods of time
Must be able to walk approx. 6-8 miles per day in all types of weather
Bending, crouching, and kneeling will be necessary
Complete work in an efficient manner and meet all required completion dates
Comply with all safety and quality practices
Follow company guidelines in the employee manual
Adhere to safety procedures as stated in the safety manual
Keep lines of communication open with managers
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license and registered and insured vehicle (proof of insurance required)
Reliable vehicle that meets company requirements
DOT pre-employment and random drug screening required
Must pass a pre-employment background check
Understand maps and directions
Work Site:
AGD provides services throughout Northern Illinois. Employees job sites vary daily. Employees can expect to drive up to an hour and a half some days to get to the job site.
