Meet Remi and Rae — the newest (and smallest) members of the Hart Construction crew. 🐾 We found these two on a job site at Petaluma Republic Services. They were tiny, scared, and needed help fast. Sue Meeks, who works there, didn't hesitate — she took them in and bottle-fed them around the clock until they were strong enough to thrive. From there, our partners at Forgotten Felines of Sonoma County stepped in to help make sure Remi and Rae had everything they needed for a healthy start. And somewhere along the way, they became more than just a rescue story — they became official Hart Construction mascots. We build homes for a living. Turns out every once in a while, we help build one for a couple of kittens too. Welcome to the crew, Remi and Rae. 🧡 If you're local and want to support the incredible work Forgotten Felines of Sonoma County does for unowned and at-risk cats in our county, check them out — they've been doing this since 1990 and they don't get nearly enough credit.

The pantry nobody knew they needed until they had one. 🤍
Floor-to-ceiling corner shelving, warm overhead lighting, and a flush-mount door that disappears into the cabinetry when closed. Christopher built this walk-in pantry as part of a larger kitchen project — every shelf, every panel, fitted by hand.
The best storage is the kind that feels intentional.

Christopher spent the weekend kayak fishing at Russian Gulch on the Mendocino coast — because apparently when you build outdoor showers with ocean views for a living, the bar for a good day off is pretty high. Back to work this week. hart-construction.net

Every backyard project starts somewhere. This one started with Christopher pouring a concrete foundation by hand in a shaded Fairfax backyard — and ended with something the homeowners will use every single day. From there: pressure treated framing custom-built to wrap a circular cedar hot tub, then STK cedar decking laid board by board to match the curve. The whole platform sits under a canopy of Japanese maples, enclosed by an existing fence, with stepping stones leading right up to the edge. No subcontractors. No project managers. Christopher Hart built every piece of this — foundation to finish. This is the kind of outdoor project that completely changes how you live in your home. From an empty hillside in Woodacre to a finished ADU — cedar siding, corrugated metal roof, white oak floors, and Marvin windows with views of the Marin hills. This one was built from the ground up. Pier footings drilled into the slope, heavy timber framing, full weatherproof envelope, and every finish chosen and installed with care. Hart Construction builds in Sonoma and Marin County.
