Check out this awesome story of savings. The U.S. fire service is in need of good, live fire training facilities. I’ve been in one of these training buildings, compared to any of the commercially available options that I’ve experienced, this is better.
You can advance right up on the flashover chamber, work on your flow pattern and not immediately extinguish the fuel package. You get to force entry, see thermal layering, see rollover, and do coordinated vertical ventilation (with punchout below) depending on how you spec these out at a cost far below the major manufacturers. I know in this day you have plenty of options, but if Iowa American Rescue isn’t on your radar yet, I hope they will be now. Check them out if you’re in need of a good training facility with live burn capability at a fraction of the cost of some other options.

When we started this process the fire department said they had budgeted nearly a million dollars and had a ten year timeline due to that cost. Here we are for a quarter of their estimated cost, with a timeline that gets them burning 9 years ahead of schedule. Could they have waited to buy a Lamborghini in ten years (for 2 million after inflation)? Absolutely, but there are a lot of fires that will happen between now and then, and they needed an option that will give them some of the most realistic conditions possible at a price they can train firefighters for NOW. The choice was obvious when they asked their trusted training provider roguetraining_consulting_llc who to go with. We are here on their recommendation and look forward to an awesome train the trainer class upon delivery. (Image is a conceptual rendering only)
