With furnaces firing up around Franklin and Warren County, here’s a little thing we tell every customer this time of year: check that 1-inch furnace filter about once a month, and plan to swap it every 1 to 3 months through heating season.

A clogged filter makes the furnace work harder than it should — and you’ll usually notice it when you hold it up to the light and can’t see through it. If that’s yours, toss it and put a clean one in. Takes two minutes and it really helps.
