Our team “musters” are some of our favorite times of the week.

Right now, we’re wrapping up some big projects and getting ready to start exciting new ones in Bearden and Sequoyah Hills. And yes, our new office is still very much under construction, as you can see. But we already love having a space of our own where our team can come together and, ultimately, serve our customers better from one location.

This week’s muster covered a little bit of everything: a big kitchen project in Maryville that we love, a creative tile job coming up, customer gifts and how we can honor the people who trust us with their homes, and the excitement that comes with growing as a company and working in new neighborhoods.

Our musters are a time to buckle down. We talk through projects, solve problems, hold ourselves accountable, and make sure we’re living up to the standards we’ve set for our work and our service.

But they’re also a chance to enjoy being together. We’re building a company, but we’re building a team, too.

We’re SO thankful for the people who show up every day and make Kairos what it is, and for the homeowners who invite us into their homes and trust us to do the work right. There’s a lot happening around here, and we’re excited about where we’re headed.

Some projects stick with you long after the work is done.

For a family in Tellico Village, Kairos took on a big renovation: a full kitchen remodel, a new laundry room, a master bathroom update, and more. Months of planning, construction, coordination, and problem solving went into it. But somewhere in all that work, something else was quietly being built too: trust.

When the project wrapped up, these homeowners did something we didn't expect. They invited our whole team back into their home, this time for dinner. Not as the people who'd been working on their house, but as their guests.

The homeowner, who is from Thailand and is an incredible cook, prepared an amazing authentic Thai meal for everyone, with a full spread from appetizers through dessert. Dish after dish filled the table, and the care and hospitality behind it made the evening even more special.

That dinner was their way of showing appreciation, but what they shared with us over the table meant even more to us than the meal itself.

Having lived abroad for many years, they told us how important it was to find people here they could genuinely trust. They trusted us enough to travel out of the country during construction, knowing their home was safe, the work would be done right, and the people inside their home would operate with integrity. That kind of trust isn't given easily, and we don't take it for granted.

We're so thankful to this family, not just for the opportunity to work on their home, but for welcoming us into it in return. What a privilege it was to walk back through their door once the work was finished, sit around the table with them, share a delicious meal, and enjoy the spaces we created together.

This is what it looks like when a project becomes a relationship. Thank you to these homeowners for trusting us with their home and for showing us such genuine kindness in return.

At Kairos, Hospitality is one of our core values, and it goes far beyond simply being welcoming. It is how we care for people.

For our homeowners, that care takes many forms. We celebrate the important moments happening in their lives, from birthdays and anniversaries to welcoming a new baby. We send notes, give thoughtful gifts, and make a point to recognize that life continues to happen while we are working in their home.

But as our Office Manager, Jessica Bakker, shares, some of the most important expressions of hospitality happen behind the scenes.

It means communicating clearly. Keeping homeowners involved from beginning to end. Making sure they know what is happening, what is coming next, and when something changes. Because when you trust someone with your home, you should never be left wondering where things stand.

Remember that 30-foot steel beam we showed flying into place? 👀🏗️

Here’s what it looks like now that it’s officially installed!

To create one big, open kitchen, we removed a load-bearing wall and the existing load-bearing beam—which meant we needed some serious structural support to take their place. Enter: this 30-foot steel beam. 💪

We shared the drone footage of the beam going in, but we wanted to give you a closer look at what’s actually happening behind the scenes before everything gets covered up.

Next up, this beam will be drywalled and finished with a Level 5 finish, so eventually you’ll never know all this steel is hiding underneath.

Stay tuned—we’ll show you what it looks like once it’s completely finished. The transformation is going to be good. 👏

This renovation near Downtown Knoxville is coming together beautifully, with a design that honors the character of this home while creating spaces that will enhance the way these homeowners and their guests experience the home every day.

The new upstairs primary suite and bathroom build on the warmth and character of this Craftsman-style home while giving the homeowners a space designed for the way they live today. Beautiful hardwood floors bring warmth and continuity to the space, while French glass doors, Craftsman details, dual closets, a black countertop in the bathroom, backlit mirror, and glass-enclosed shower create a balance of character, comfort, and function.
