Triclosan is ending up in surface and ground waters through wastewater. Researchers have been documenting a rise in anti-microbial bacteria in the environment. This article provides more documentation for why this stuff should not be used. Cultivate your biome!

Triclosan is an antimicrobial commonly found in soaps, shampoos, toothpastes and many other household items. Despite its widespread use, researchers report potentially serious consequences of long-term exposure to the chemical.

As Well 10 nears completion, it is important to verify the water is suitable for consumption. Here, a specialist from FG Sullivan Drilling collects a sample of water from the new well. This sample will be tested for the presence of bacteria and about 70 other chemicals. Only once these tests come back showing the water is suitable, will the Town be authorized to pump it to its residents. At this point, we anticipate getting the "All Clear" from MassDEP by mid-January.

Weird looking, huh? This is Well No. 7 in Canton after the pump building and foundation were removed. Bristol was on-site today to make sure the well wasn't damaged during the exterior demo work. Stay tuned for updates as Bristol brings this well back to active service for Canton

Bristol is working with the Town of Mattapoisett to improve the water quality in Eel Pond. The pond suffers from excess nutrient loading from stormwater, which has resulted in the growth of algal mats. These mats, besides being an eyesore, consume oxygen in the water and smother vital habitat in the pond sediment.

A very poor example of wellhead protection, indeed!
