Check out this kitchen we had the pleasure of completing in July. This house was built in 1890, and like most older homes there wasn't a straight or level surface to be had (before pictures attached)! Our team had to extensively shim the walls and ceiling prior to installing the drywall and tongue and groove ceiling. The countertop and floating shelving material is all custom fitted butcherblock. We also installed appliances, cabinets and all new flooring, along with the beautiful wall paint!

Working collaboratively with the client, our team took into account the dark wall color by adding recessed lighting. This was to provide task illumination as well as to offset the light absorbing qualities of the wall color (which we LOVE)! The window on the left wall was resized in order to better accommodate the new design, allowing the client as much natural light in the space was possible!

This is a project we completed earlier this year. The client wanted a few projects tackled at this property. We repaired some structural supports in the basement that had been damaged by termites in the past. The concrete front porch was replaced with a new wood/composite decked porch. The siding was replaced with vinyl around the door opening and a new storm door was installed. On the rear of the house, we replaced the stairs going up onto that deck

It's pleasure to work with composite decking materials when a client budget allows. There is virtually no maintenance when you build with composite materials!

Barclay Contracting had the privilege of sponsoring a Keystone Team for a few tournaments post little league season. This particular one was held by Montgomery in July. It was a muggy, miserable day. Due to inclement weather, they had to cram 2 days worth of games into one Saturday. The boys played their hearts out and took 2nd place out of 8 teams. Their only loss came during the championship game, when they were bested by another Keystone team- comprised of teammates from the regular season. Not a bad way to end a hard played tournament!

Here is a really interesting project we tackled last week. For those who aren't familiar, this is a walk-in soaking tub. It's great for individuals who have mobility issues. Specifically folks who have difficulty lifting their legs. Providing a safe and effortless transition from your bathing floor into the tub. This particular tub has hydro and air jets for message therapy as well as a inline water heater.

If your home is lacking in storage or multi-use spaces, consider adding a custom built-in unit to any available wall space. They pack a ton of punch with regard to functionality, without taking up a lot of real estate or being a massive project!

The boys finished this custom built in during the Holiday season. Materials were minimal--wood and bead board, durable cabinet paint and bead board paint (benjamin moore), some electrical items to hook up the new cable line for a tv, two additional outlets for gaming consoles and/or speakers, plus cabinet pulls and hinges.

With this built in, the room went from an office that doubles as a guest quarters due to a pull out couch, to now also serving as an additional den/gaming room for the kids! We love multi-use spaces!
