Another manufacturing facility move in the books. Just a small glimpse of the facility; new machines, rebuilt machines, and upgrades. A great environment with heat and air, not to mention some amazing dedicated people to support our work.

As Hannibal on the TV series, the A-Team would say, I just love it when a plan comes together! It looks like it’s going to be a really good day at work. However, I would rather move a 1000 ton molding machine in to the USA instead of out!

11 machines out and 6 new machines in. (Zoom in to see the 6’ man) The difference between 58,000 # and 42,000 # is not always this obvious! The Make/Manufacturer of the same Tonnage machine can vary 10’s of thousands of pounds. Experience is the key on these moves.

We move industrial manufacturing machines. One machine or an entire facility. Some customers: Mattel, Electrolux, The Army, Carrier, Steris, Gibson Guitar and many more. This awesome work is not for the faint of heart but for those with a lot of heart.

Received an urgent call to move a hospital's Nuclear Imaging machine and load onto a truck. Time was of the essence due to our only path blocking the helicopter walkway! On site, job done, all within a few hours.

Earned Trust

1929 The Great Depression occurred and a need arose for a moving company to help consolidate families and friends save what little money they had left. Crosstown Transfer and Storage began and charged $0.25 a room. Some items went to storage and were never retrieved. Those families who were evicted saw the Sheriff set their hard earned belongings on the street. Crosstown would immediately go to assist the family and put their belongings into its warehouse at 417 South Main St, Memphis, TN. One such family was in the middle of cooking and many years later the evidence of a family dinner stood still in time within the walls of Crosstown’s storage.

Crosstown was trusted to move families’ belongings with care and respect. As the economy improved, more cash was kept at home in mattresses and butcher paper. However, safes were now found in homes and businesses. The safes got bigger and heavier which required a trusted mover.

Crosstown Transfer and Storage expanded to include Normal Heavy Hauling along with Patterson Warehouses, after which the family name of Acuff was given to Acuff Crane and Rigging and all companies went under the one name.

1991 Acuff Crane and Rigging and its entities were sold by a majority family member to a local crane business. Susan Acuff saw the trusted name being taken off the Acuff equipment and the loyal employees being replaced.
