More than 12,000 square feet. Multiple environments. One high-performance flooring solution.
Industrial Applications, Inc. recently installed a colored troweled quartz flooring system throughout the hallways, restrooms, and commercial kitchen of a busy high school.
Troweled quartz is one of the most technically demanding resinous flooring systems to install correctly. Ceramic-coated quartz aggregate is blended directly into a resin binder, then carefully hand- or power-troweled onto the prepared concrete. The result is a dense, seamless floor that combines exceptional durability, cleanability, slip resistance, and visual appeal.
For an active educational facility, those advantages matter. The completed flooring system provides:
• Durable performance under heavy daily foot traffic
• Slip-resistant texture for areas exposed to moisture and spills
• Seamless transitions and integrated cove bases that simplify cleaning
• Resistance to stains, moisture, chemicals, and commercial cleaning products
• Custom quartz colors that create an attractive, consistent appearance
• A low-maintenance surface that does not require waxing
From busy corridors to restrooms and food-service areas, delivered a flooring system designed around the operational demands of each space while maintaining a cohesive appearance throughout the facility.
When a project requires this level of technical installation, experience beneath the surface makes all the difference.

Rehabilitating an existing facility can often be a more cost-effective alternative to building new, but bringing an aging manufacturing space back into service can require substantial work.
When a global manufacturer prepared to put an existing facility back into operation, they turned to Industrial Applications, Inc. to help rehabilitate the plant from the floor up.
meticulously prepared 135,000 SF of existing concrete, completing the necessary repairs and patching before installing a two-coat clear epoxy flooring system.
But our work did not stop at the floor.
IA also installed two coats of alkyd dryfall throughout the facility’s ceiling space, helping give this aging manufacturing plant a fresh start and preparing the space for its next chapter of production.
Projects like this demonstrate what can be accomplished when the right preparation, systems, and experienced crews are brought together.

A global industrial manufacturer partnered with Industrial Applications Inc. because they recognize that investing in employee spaces is an investment in their workforce.
A well-designed breakroom does more than provide a place to eat. It supports employee morale, encourages recovery during demanding shifts, and helps reduce fatigue in physically demanding manufacturing environments. When employees have access to clean, durable, and welcoming spaces, it reinforces a culture that values safety, productivity, and retention.
To support those goals, installed nearly 5,000 square feet of urethane concrete flooring with an epoxy grout coat and HTS topcoat throughout the facility's breakroom and locker rooms. The finished floor delivers long-term durability, chemical resistance, ease of maintenance, and an attractive appearance that will serve the facility for years to come.
Whether you're renovating employee spaces, upgrading production areas, or planning a new facility, choosing the right flooring system is an investment in both your operation and your people.
If you're evaluating flooring for your facility, we'd be happy to help.

Freezer floors operate in one of the harshest environments in any facility. Constant cold temperatures, heavy forklift traffic, and daily operations can quickly expose failing concrete surfaces, creating dust, cleanliness concerns, and compliance challenges.
Industrial Applications Inc. was called in to evaluate nearly 12,000 square feet of delaminated freezer flooring at a food bank where the deteriorating surface was producing concrete dust and impacting daily operations.
Our team mechanically cleaned, ground, and prepared the concrete before applying a grout coat and polishing the floor to a durable 400-grit satin finish. The result was a clean, dust-free surface that improved housekeeping, restored functionality, and helped the facility continue serving its community without unnecessary downtime.

When a leading contract food manufacturer producing hundreds of millions of pounds of food each year needed to improve water flow and repair extensive floor damage across more than 10,000 square feet of production space, they turned to Industrial Applications.
Working alongside an industrial plumbing contractor, our team helped develop a drainage solution that included properly pitched flooring to improve water management throughout the production area.
The project also involved repairing severe floor deterioration beneath commercial ovens caused by prolonged exposure to boiling oil. Our crews removed the damaged flooring, rebuilt the area using high-performance urethane concrete, and installed crowned and properly pitched surfaces to direct water efficiently to the new drainage system.
Projects like this require more than installing a floor. They require understanding how a facility operates, coordinating with multiple trades, and executing the work around demanding 24/7/365 production schedules while minimizing operational disruption.
Whether your facility is experiencing drainage issues, thermal shock damage, chemical exposure, or deteriorating concrete, Industrial Applications delivers durable flooring systems engineered for the demands of industrial environments.

Automobile dealership service bays take a beating from constant vehicle traffic, dropped tools, chemicals, and daily wear. At the same time, they play an important role in creating a professional first impression for customers and employees alike.
An established automobile dealership recently partnered with Industrial Applications Inc. to restore and upgrade nearly 14,000 square feet of heavily worn service bay flooring. Years of demanding service operations had left the existing floor in need of significant repair and protection.
Our team performed extensive surface preparation, concrete repairs, patching, and joint caulking before installing a high-performance epoxy flooring system finished with a durable urethane topcoat. Special attention was given to drains, transitions, and critical detail areas to ensure a seamless, long-lasting finish built to withstand the daily demands of a busy service department.
The result is a cleaner, brighter, and more professional workspace that enhances appearance, improves maintainability, and helps protect the facility's concrete investment for years to come.

There are projects… and then there are landmarks.
When we were brought in to work on the basement of the Peabody Hotel—a property with over a century of history—we knew that this was about respecting legacy while building for the future.
Beneath the surface, the story was layered, literally. Decades of previous flooring systems had built up over time, each one masking underlying challenges like moisture and wear. Before anything new could begin, everything old had to come out. We took it all the way down to the original concrete.
From there, the focus shifted to precision, preparation, and performance. The solution: a monolithic decorative flake flooring system engineered to handle the realities of a high-demand environment.
This system delivers:
• High impact resistance for long-term durability
• Moisture tolerance is critical in below-grade conditions
• A seamless, easy-to-maintain surface
• A clean, modern aesthetic that elevates the space without competing with its history
The end result is more than just a floor; it’s a foundation built to support the next 100 years of service inside one of Memphis’s most iconic properties.

Animal shelter environments demand more from a floor than almost any other space. Constant foot traffic, cleaning cycles, moisture, and impact all work against long-term performance. When a busy shelter needed a solution for more than 4,000 square feet, they turned to Industrial Applications for a system that would hold up under daily stress while still creating a clean, welcoming environment.
The scope brought real challenges. Kennel areas required detailed hand grinding along thousands of feet of block wall edges. Our team also hand polished around drains and navigated inconsistent, uneven concrete throughout the space. This type of work demands precision, patience, and experience to get right.
The finished system delivered a medium sheen 800 grit polish with a salt and pepper aggregate exposure, finished with a stain that enhances brightness and cleanliness. The result is a floor built for durability, easier maintenance, and a noticeably improved environment for both staff and visitors.
When performance, longevity, and appearance all matter, the details make the difference.
and a stain to present a clean and welcoming environment.
