Spring Genetics Spring Genetics produces genetically improved high performing tilapia broodstock

Spring Genetics was established in 2009 and is the production arm of Akvaforsk Genetic Center AS (www.afgc.no), the world’s largest R&D & Consultancy group on selective breeding programs for aquaculture species. The group has been essential in developing the genetic material used in salmon production world wide, as well as for the GIFT material for Tilapia in Asia. From our state-of-the art Breeding Nucleus centrally located in South-Florida, we supply our hatcheries in the Americas with highly selected genetic material which in turn distribute Spring-Tilapia® fingerlings to grow-out farmers.
