This blower wheel was absolutely packed with dust and debris 😳

A dirty blower wheel does not just look bad. It can have a huge impact on your system’s performance. A Texas A&M study found that even 1/8 inch of buildup on a blower wheel can reduce airflow by up to 30%.

What’s hiding inside your HVAC system?

This is the inside of a return plenum we inspected in the Midland–Odessa area, and you can see microbial growth inside the duct system.

A lot of people think this can’t happen in West Texas because it’s so dry. But your air conditioner actually pulls humidity out of the air while it runs. That moisture condenses inside the system, creating a cool, damp environment.

When dust and debris are present, those conditions can allow microbial growth to develop inside the plenum and ductwork.
