We are still in the first half of summer 🌞⛱️...but some of us are already counting down to fall 🍂🦃

***Here are 7️⃣ Simple ways to help cool your home this summer🥵🔥***

1. 🪭 Fan power- using ceiling fans rotated counterclockwise in the summer heat can make a room feel about 5 degrees cooler

2. 🪟 Keep blinds or curtains closed during the hottest part of the day especially West facing windows in the afternoon.

3. 🍃 Open windows in the morning and evening when the temperature outside is the lowest and run your whole house fan. This can cut the cooling bill down 20-50%.

4. ♨️ Run appliances during the coolest parts of the day or take advantage of grilling outdoors during the hot summer days. Using alternative appliances to oven such as toaster, crockpot or microwave.

5. 💡Consider using LED lightbulbs in your home which use about 75% less energy and emit 90% less heat than traditional bulbs

6. 🏠 Install effective insulation in your attic. More than 7 inches of fiberglass or rock wool insulation or more than 6 inches of cellulose insulation. In general, The United States Department of Energy recommends between R-22 and R-49 insulation in attics.

7. 🧐 Be sure your ductwork and all connections are properly sealed and not leaking cold air, especially if you have ductwork in your attic. Consider insulating attic ducts.
