❄️ Cold winter check-in! ❄️
With these extra chilly temps lately, we’re curious… what do YOU keep your thermostat set on at home? 👀🔥

🏡 Our house is set on 65° — cozy enough to stay comfortable while keeping our system running efficiently.

💡 Helpful winter thermostat tips from your local HVAC pros:
• Keeping your heat between 65–68° helps balance comfort & energy savings
• Every degree higher can increase energy use by 2–3%
• Use blankets & layers instead of cranking the heat
• Make sure filters are clean for better airflow
• Avoid big temperature swings — steady settings are easier on your system

👇🏼 Drop your number in the comments!
Are you team 65°… or turning it up higher this winter? 😄🔥

🚨 Why switch to Emergency Heat during freezing temps?
• Emergency Heat turns off the heat pump and relies only on the heat strips
• This helps prevent the system from constantly running and struggling
• It can protect your unit from unnecessary wear during extreme cold

⚠️ Important to know:
Emergency Heat uses more electricity, so it should only be used during freezing or icy conditions—not all winter long.

If your home isn’t warming properly, your system runs nonstop, or you’re unsure when to use Emergency Heat, it’s a good idea to have your system checked by a professional.

❄️ Cold Weather + HVAC Heat Pumps: What You Need to Know ❄️

When temperatures drop below freezing, your heat pump has to work much harder to heat your home. Heat pumps are designed to move heat—not create it—so when the outdoor air gets extremely cold, there’s less heat available to pull inside.

That’s where heat strips (auxiliary or emergency heat) come into play 🔥

➡️ Heat strips are electric backup heaters inside your system.
➡️ They kick on automatically when the heat pump can’t keep up in cold weather.
➡️ They provide direct heat, similar to a space heater, to help maintain indoor comfort.

If your home isn’t warming properly, your system runs nonstop, or you’re unsure when to use Emergency Heat, it’s a good idea to have your system checked by a professional.
