Now that the dust has settled and the excitement has calmed we’d like to thank the Coos County Fair & Rodeo and all of its volunteers for the hard work and dedication they’ve put in to this week. It’s not just this week but the months and months of preparation leading up to it.
We’d also like the thank the Myrtle Point Police dept, Myrtle Point Fire &Ambulance and the Coos Bay Police dept for all of their hours and hard work. Thank you for keeping our families safe!

Our Friend Kerry Leep came to us with a photo and a heart felt family history lesson. As he was telling me the story of his family’s history, I looked calm on the surface as he was talking about how he wanted to honor his family and Uncle Rolland with a sign for Leep’s Field at the Coos County Fair & Rodeo . Inside I was having a panic attack thinking how are we going to turn this picture and history into a sign that matched Kerry’s energy and love. Once we invited him back to see it at the shop before it was hung his emotions and excitement made our hearts explode and set out minds at ease.
A huge thank you to Korby Kennedy owner of Quiet Valley Solutions for helping us hang this sign at the last minute! Also Jason Wilson and crew for getting the poles raised and set and helping hang it. Ladder was a little high for my taste! 😂
Thank you Kerry Leep for trusting us to make this sign honoring your uncle Rolland and the history of your family. The smile on your face meant the world to us sir, but I’m still going to heckle you during basketball season 😉!

We enjoy the fair soo much. Helping the kids get their pieces they need for their 4h fair board is one of my most favorite things.
This year we were asked to make something for the Trent Messerle Beef starter award. Mr Bentley Hermann was the recipient of this award last year and had brought his heifer “Penny” to the fair with him among the others. To honor both Trent and Bentley with this piece we added both of them in it itself. The silhouette you see is taken directly from a picture of Bentley and “Penny”. You can clearly see “In Memory of Trent Messerle”. But do you see those two penny’s at the bottom? Those penny’s have the year of Trent’s birth and the year of his untimely passing.
Bentley’s dad Cal Hermann and Trent were great friends and it was an absolute honor to be asked to make something special for this fair for them. Hope we did good! Trent continues to live on in the hearts of sooo many people.
