Some collections are too valuable to leave to chance.🍷

This homeowner in Old Hickory knew something wasn't right with their wine cellar.

The display said 64°, but the room felt much cooler.

When a wine cellar can't accurately monitor temperature, it can put an entire collection at risk without the homeowner even realizing it.

✅ We installed a new controller.
✅ The controller accurately read 57° instead of 64°.
✅ We set the cellar to the homeowner's preferred 60°.
✅ We verified the system was operating properly before we left.

Sometimes the biggest problem isn't a complete system failure.

It's equipment that's quietly giving you the wrong information.

Whether it's a wine cellar, your home's HVAC system, or your plumbing, accurate diagnostics matter.

At Parthenon, we're here to restore more than your equipment.

We're here to bring you peace of mind.

Why does the same drain keep clogging?

If you've cleared it before but the problem keeps coming back, there's usually a reason.

Our expert plumber rounded up 9 of the most common reasons drains clog repeatedly so you can better understand what's happening before a small inconvenience turns into a bigger repair.

A drain that clogs once is a nuisance. A drain that keeps clogging is a signal. Recurring drain problems in Nashville homes are almost never random. They

This story shows the real value of a seasonal AC tune-up.

We received a call from a homeowner in Crieve Hall because their AC kept shutting off on one of the hottest days of the year.

The culprit?

A condenser coil so packed with dirt and debris that the system could barely breathe.

When your outdoor coil can't release heat, your AC has to work much harder to keep your home cool. Over time, that extra strain can overheat the system, damage electrical components, and eventually lead to costly repairs.

In this case, that's exactly what happened.

By the time we arrived, the homeowner needed more than a cleaning. We replaced failed electrical components, thoroughly cleaned the condenser coil, and got the system cooling again.

💡 Here's the takeaway:

Had this buildup been caught during a routine tune-up, there's a good chance the excessive strain (and the repair that followed) could have been avoided.

Seasonal maintenance matters.
✅ Cleaner coils help your system run more efficiently.
✅ Less strain means less wear on critical components.
✅ Small issues are often found before they become expensive ones.

Routine maintenance isn't about checking a box. It's about protecting your comfort, your budget, and your home before small problems turn into big ones.

Your HVAC filter might be causing the very problem you're trying to solve.

Trying to reduce dust? Ease allergies? Protect your heating and cooling system?

Many homeowners unknowingly choose a filter that's too restrictive (or not effective enough). The result can be poor airflow, higher energy bills, unnecessary strain on your HVAC system, and air that still doesn't feel as clean as it should.

Our latest blog takes the guesswork out of choosing the right AC filter, so you can make a confident decision for your home and your family.

Your family's health and comfort depend on the air you breathe at home every day, yet many Nashville homeowners feel uncertain about which AC filter truly

Leave it better than you found it.

That's exactly what we did for this new customer in 12 South with a warm house and clogged condensate drain line.

Rather than simply clearing the clog and calling it a day, we looked for ways to better protect the home going forward.

✅ We rebuilt the condensate drain line.
✅ Added an inline safety switch for an extra layer of protection.
✅ Flushed and treated the drain.
✅ Verified everything was draining properly before putting the system back into service.

Why the extra safety switch?

Many systems like this include a safety switch in the emergency drain pan. It's designed to shut the system off when water has reached the pan. The problem: by then water has already backed up into your unit or collected in the emergency pan above your head.

When possible, Parthenon recommends adding an inline safety switch as well. It monitors the primary drain line and can shut the system down well before water enters the unit to keep your unit and home free of serious water damage.

Every HVAC system is different, which is why we don't believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. We recommend the options that make the most sense for your home and explain the "why" behind every recommendation.

Sometimes the most valuable repair isn't what you fix today, but rather what you prevent tomorrow.

Not sure about your drain lines?

The best way to avoid clogged drain lines that cause your unit to shut down on the hottest days of summer is by scheduling your AC tune-ups earlier in the year. During an AC tune-up, we inspect, clean, test, and fine-tune your system to help it run safely, efficiently, and reliably all summer long.

Many homeowners are caring for their HVAC system the wrong way.

The maintenance your system needs at 3 years old isn't the same as what it needs at 13 years old. And knowing the difference could help you avoid costly repairs and get more life out of your investment.

Our latest guide breaks down exactly what to expect, year by year.

How much space does your outdoor AC unit really need?🌿

These photos are from a recent HVAC replacement we completed for a homeowner in Antioch, and they’re a great reminder that the space around your outdoor unit matters.

When shrubs, weeds, and overgrowth crowd your system, airflow becomes restricted.

That can make your air conditioner work harder, reduce efficiency, increase wear on important components, and make routine maintenance more difficult.

A little yard maintenance around your unit can go a long way toward protecting your investment.

If your system is older or simply struggling to keep up, we’ll help you understand your options without pressure.

Whether you need a repair, routine maintenance, or a complete HVAC replacement, our team will provide honest recommendations, upfront pricing, and unmatched service.

Because peace of mind starts with knowing the job is done right.
