Progressive Materials’ silicone roof coatings are made to stand up to tough conditions, but we never expected to test it like this! During a customer delivery in New Mexico, some of our silicone coating accidentally ended up on a section of historic Route 66. There, it faced blazing heat, cars, heavy semis and plenty of time on the pavement.

So, how did it hold up?

PM Technical Expert Jeff Romero takes a closer look at this unexpected real-world durability test and shows how the coating continued to maintain its strength and color despite everything Route 66 threw at it. We don’t recommend coating the highway. But it’s pretty impressive to see what PM Silicone can handle.
