Almost nobody's first budget is right, and that's completely normal. Costs are hard to pin down until you've seen real quotes, and surprises behind the walls are common. Treat your first number as a starting point and plan for a cushion.

Nobody tells you this, but I will:

Changing your mind mid-remodel doesn’t mean you’re indecisive. It means you’re paying attention.

Almost everyone does it — you see the space differently once it’s real, not just an idea on paper. That’s not a mistake. That’s the process working exactly like it should.
