Yesterday we started another boathouse. Geddes building movers works with us to lift and move the structure, we redo the underpinnings and then we put it back down. Ready for another generation to enjoy.

Ice out is almost here!
It has been a great winter on the lake, but the season can be hard on docks. We are happy to help get yours back in shape so you can get on the water as soon as possible.
The permitting side of things can be easier than most people think.

If your dock has been in place since at least 2000, or was originally built with a permit, you can register it with the state rather than go through the full wetlands permit process.
Registration is valid for five years and allows repairs to be made any time — no additional permitting required.

Today is the second day of the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance's old house and barn expo. We're down here to talk about old boathouses, docks, and anything else of interest.

I saw this last spring in New York. I've never seen anything like it before or since. They built a whole island park where once there was a rotten pier.

We did this dock and canopy last winter. It took some time, but turned out beautifully. Winter sure can be cold.

This dock is decked with Torum, sure is beautiful and really hard. This skirting detail can protect your decking from impact.

When it comes time for a new system at your camp or home, we can offer several options. The 2 fields shown are Geomat.
The little one is called Geomat Edge, it's one of our favorite systems to install because the field is truly small. The units are four feet by eight feet, it takes 2 for a 2 bedroom home.
Most camps require tree removal to allow installation. We can chip the small stuff and haul the big.

We built this canopy in the early part of last summer. It features a post and beam frame and an amazing aluminum product called Drijoist that is a structural roof and beaded ceiling all in one.

This boathouse, while not that old, sits where, in the early 1900's, there was a huge boathouse. The area around it is littered with old cribs, the shore has all been built up in a blend of timbers and stone. It's a really cool site.
The second pic was taken just a couple weeks ago. Sure looks better than when we got there. No idea what happened to the door. It was fine this fall when I last drove by.
