Avex painted this livery, named “Rosie” (Fred Smith’s granddaughter) featuring a nostalgic Federal Express livery inspired by their original
1973 Falcon jets.

We are excited to participate in the LaSPACE () Summer Industry Mentoring Pilot Program by welcoming two interns to our Engineering and Quality departments this summer!

Sydni is studying at Louisiana State University and Gabriel at Tulane University - during their time with us, they are gaining valuable industry exposure, developing technical skills, and strengthening their professional skills through hands-on learning experiences.

We are proud to invest in the next generation of talent and look forward to supporting their growth throughout the summer.

Today marks an exciting milestone as we celebrate the groundbreaking for the Eastside Development Expansion at the Acadiana Regional Airport. This transformative project will include a new three-bay aircraft maintenance hangar capable of servicing three Boeing 767-sized aircraft simultaneously, allowing Avex to double our existing maintenance capacity and continue supporting the growing needs of the aviation industry.

This achievement would not have been possible without the incredible support and partnership of so many individuals and organizations. We extend our sincere gratitude to Acadiana Regional Airport, M. Larry Richard Iberia Parish President, Iberia Industrial Development Foundation, One Acadiana, Beau Beaullieu, District 48 State Representative, Blake Miguez, U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, Delta Regional Authority, Governor Jeff Landry, Louisiana Secretary of State, Louisiana Economic Development and the many other partners who believed in this vision and helped make it a reality.

This expansion represents more than a new facility—it is an investment in economic growth, job creation, workforce development, and the future of aviation in Acadiana and throughout Louisiana.
