When Hurricane Ida damaged the LA 302 bridge over Bayou Barataria, it didn't just interrupt traffic—it closed a vital waterway that local commercial vessels, shrimpers and recreational boaters had relied on for generations.
Today, Boh Bros. Construction is proud to be nearing completion of the new LA 302 Bayou Barataria Movable Bridge, a project that showcases nearly every aspect of our heavy civil expertise—from marine construction and pile driving to bridge construction, concrete paving, structural steel, and complex movable bridge machinery.
When unforeseen challenges, including load restrictions on the existing bridge, threatened construction logistics, our team adapted by creating an innovative marine supply chain that kept the project moving. It's a testament to the ingenuity, collaboration and determination of our employees, partners and the Louisiana Department Of Transportation and Development.
More than a replacement bridge, this project will reconnect a community, restore navigation through Bayou Barataria and provide safer, more resilient infrastructure for generations to come.
